Let us welcome you to our much loved family home for eight generations. It has been an immense privilege to care for the ‘grand old lady’ all these years and our great pleasure to share her with you today.
Strolling in our grounds you can marvel at the specimen trees planted by Nigel’s forebears. Maybe follow this with a glass of wine on the terrace in the sunshine or in front of a cosy log fire.
Rich in history and dating back to 1643, we are tucked away in a stunningly beautiful part of the South Downs National Park, just a stone’s throw from Petersfield.
From dog walkers to readers, cyclists to Historic House “hunters”, car groups to walkers, we together with Laura and Val look forward to meeting you.

A brief history
The House History
Nigel’s family acquired the house and Home Farm in 1842, built on a huge wing, acquired more farms and planted the slopes around the lake below the House, with specimen trees. It’s heyday as a family home came under the tenure of Charles William and Constance Louisa Talbot-Ponsonby; they were married in 1868 and brought up 7 children at Langrish.
Fresh air, specimen trees, chickens, pheasants, owls, deer, roses, snowdrops, bluebells, 30000 daffodil bulbs, twinkling stars on a clear night and peace and quiet…what more can you ask for?
